Mossburn 10 year Single Malt Whisky no.23 750ml
One of Diageo’s smallest distilleries with four pot stills. Originally a mill, but remodelled as a distillery in 1878, Glen Spey sits in the center of the village of Rothes next door to the Glenrothes Distillery and across the road from Forsyth’s the famous whisky still manufacturers. Glen Spey’s production has a characteristic lightness from the purifiers fitted to the spirit stills which return vapours back for further distillation. After 10 years in smaller barrels, this whisky has a fragrant grassy nose with dried apple and some light vanilla. The palate starts sweeter with a little biscuity malt and vanilla cream, some floral spice and a delicious delicate lightness on the finish.
