Description
Louis Roederer Brut Collection 245 Champagne 750mL
Louis Roederer Collection 245 marks the latest chapter in the house’s innovative Collection series—a bold reimagining of non-vintage Champagne. Crafted from a blend of:
- 55% wines from the 2020 harvest,
- 35% from a Perpetual Reserve (2012–2019), and
- 10% reserved wines aged in oak (2010–2019)
The blend expression encapsulates Louis Roederer’s signature terroir, drawing grapes from three core sites: La Rivière, La Montagne, and La Côte. The varietal makeup is 41% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and 24% Meunier, with 22% undergoing malolactic fermentation, and a delicate dosage of 7 g/L.
Collection 245 showcases Roederer’s dedication to sustainability, understatement, and the evolving expression of its terroir. It was acclaimed as a wine of “plenty of cellar-aging potential” and “great plenitude”
Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Radiant golden-yellow, with lively, steady bubbles.
- Nose: Displays ripe yellow fruits like nectarine and lemon, layered with floral touches (petals, pollen), sugared almond, wheat, and subtle smoky nuances.
- Palate: Velvety, rich, and juicy in texture. The mousse is creamy with a saline, chalky freshness. A harmonious balance of structure and brightness is met with lingering smoky and oak-inflected notes on a refined finish.
